Local SEO in Buffalo, NY, starting at $750
One fixed price, and a plain look at how people in Buffalo and across Erie County actually find a business.
I work out of Fort Erie, which is the Canadian end of the Peace Bridge. Buffalo is the other end. Close enough that people here cross for a ball game and people there cross for dinner, and close enough that plenty of businesses on both ends have been each other's suppliers for a hundred years. Two countries on paper, one metro in practice.
Two governments are arguing about tariffs this year. That argument belongs to capitals, and refereeing it is not my job and not what you came to this page for. What I can tell you plainly is that I build websites and do local search work for small businesses on both sides of that bridge, and I like the work exactly the same either way. If the news has you wondering whether a Canadian shop still wants your business: yes. Genuinely, yes.
What I see most often from the Buffalo side is a listing telling people something slightly wrong, and it has been for a while.
Telling people where you actually are
Buffalo is a city of neighbourhoods and search results behave like it. Somebody looking for lunch near the offices in Larkinville, a patio at Canalside, or a tattoo in Allentown is not really searching for Buffalo. They're searching for the four blocks they're standing in.
It's the difference between telling somebody you live in Buffalo and telling them you're two doors up from the corner with the green awning. Both are true. Only one gets the delivery driver to your door with the food still hot. A Google Business Profile that says nothing but the city name is the first version of that sentence, and it competes against every other business in a metro of over a million people.
The same goes outward. If your customers come from West Seneca, Orchard Park, Tonawanda and Hamburg, then the service area on the profile should say those towns by name rather than "Erie County" and hope. Erie County is big. Naming the towns your work actually reaches gets you shown to the people who can realistically drive to you. The guide on one strategy or several has a section on what a Canadian address can and can't do for a Buffalo map result.
Paying a Canadian for the work
Straightforward: prices are quoted from $750, and you can pay directly in Canadian or US dollars, whichever's easier for you. I'll confirm the exact figure in writing before anything starts, you pay it once, and nothing recurs. No exchange-rate math, no guessing which currency comes out ahead: just one number, agreed up front.
Everything the work produces belongs to you. The Google listing stays in your name with you holding the login, the pages stay yours, and if you and I never speak again after it's finished, none of it stops working. That's the arrangement on both sides of the border, and it's the part I'd want confirmed if I were hiring somebody in another country. If you also need a website, my sibling site Niagara Web Design, run by the same person, has a guide to building a site for a business that sells across the border.
One local resource worth knowing, separate from me: the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, the regional chamber of commerce for the Buffalo Niagara area. A membership there tends to pay for itself in referrals before any marketing budget does.
Where to start
Call or email with your business name, your neighbourhood, and the best way to reach you. I'll look up what Google is currently telling people about you, and within one business day you'll hear back from me directly with which of the three sizes fits and exactly what it costs. The full breakdown of all three is on the main page.
Call 905.682.4642, or email hello@niagaraseo.com if that's easier. That's a Canadian number, and it rings on my phone the same way any other call does.
Common questions
- Does it cause problems that you're in Canada and I'm in Buffalo?
- It hasn't yet. The work happens in your Google listing and on your website, both of which I reach the same way from either side of the bridge, and the calls happen on the phone. If you'd rather meet in person, Fort Erie is a short drive and I'm happy to come to you.
- Can I pay in US dollars?
- Yes. Prices are quoted from $750, and you can pay in Canadian or US dollars, whichever's easier for you. I'll confirm the exact figure in writing before anything starts.
- Do you cover the rest of Erie County, or only the city?
- The whole county. Buffalo, the first-ring towns, and the southern towns all get the same three sizes, from $750. Just tell me where your customers come from and the service area gets built around that.
If you're on the Ontario side, or shopping both, the Fort Erie and Niagara Falls, NY pages cover those markets.
